It won't work this time. Herman Cain is more vocal than Thomas. He's had years of experience handling rude liberal callers to his radio talk show. Add to that a certain element of "Been there, done that," and I predict the public simply will not stand for another high tech lynching of a black man simply because he's a conservative black man. I used to be a somewhat liberal person--until the Thomas hearings. I was appalled at the way he was treated by the sanctimonious, hypocritical Democrats in the Senate. That was what opened my eyes to the liberal bias in the media. All the media sided with Hill, but on C-SPAN, 90% of the callers were expressing their outrage at Hill and the Democrats.
If the Democrats want to permanently lose the black vote, they should go ahead and launch these charges against Cain. I can't wait.

Cain, who has been married to his wife Gloria for 43 years, did tell at least one campaign staffer this year about the possibility that claims of sexual harassment could surface, according to the aide. Cain, this person said, described a case in which he fired an employee in 1990s and the woman alleged sexual misconduct or harassment. Cain told the campaign staffer he had beaten the case and that the woman had paid for his legal fees. The aide had no further details.
