Romney's Jobs Cutting Experience at Bain Capital
Rick Perry Report ^ | Oct 19 2011 | Joe Hyde

Posted on 10/18/2011 11:40:16 PM PDT by bullypulpit

Ted Kennedy scrubbed an ad against Mitt Romney in 1994 detailing how many jobs were lost when Romney headed an arbitrage fund that bought ailing companies, fired a ton of employees to clean up the P&L statement, and flipped them. These kinds of ads are really effective because the people who lost their jobs are real people. More, that Romney's Bain Capital was some sort of anonymous group of money men, it was easier for Romney to fire real people. This type of ad is even more effective in this very down economy, when most every voter is worried about losing their job. Expect to see more of this in the coming months. EOM Video follows at link.

The BullyPulpit Disclaimer

I acknowledge that there are a large number of folks on here who really are worried about illegal immigration. Perry has failed to commiserate with you and hasn't provided enough empathy to you. And he has not adequately explained the fine line he has walked in Texas keeping the issue from reaching a boiling point amongst many different, divergent interests in short, snappy 30-second sound bites with CNN interrogators flogging him in front of millions of people. I feel your pain and offer empathy. Tons of it. I get it.

Also have some fact checking on Mitt Romney's and Rick Perry's man-fight over Romney's illegals, Romney's book editing, Texas jobs going to only illegal immigrants, and a few other issues from last night's debate here.

I am ashamed of of how this debate went off. I personally do not give a tinkers damn about some of the disputes that took place tonight. It is time for Rick San and Bachman to pack their bags and hit the roads. I am tired of all this beating up on each other and for what, to give pukes like CNN and Anderson Cooper the joy of seeing these candidates make fools of themselves cutting each other up and for what? This childish game has to stop.

Am I the only one who REALLY wishes Gov. Palin had been up on that stage? Lord, what a circus!

You know that there are SEVEN more debates. (see debate schedule). Get Bachmann off the stage "you know what is really the problem is ANCHOR babies!" Good grief. Yes, they are a problem. DUH! Santorum was actually sort of intelligent. A few times. But yes, get them off the stage. They suck. The networks need them. The debates with lots of drama are American Idol-like ratings winners.

Baloney. This is no child's game. This is serious stuff. Mittens has been getting a pass as the presumptive nominee without a word on his past. Tonight we finally saw Mittens vetted and he crumbled like punk. That is what these debates are for. Were you all upset when "Voodoo Economics" was thrown around a few years back? Debates are never civil. If they were they would be pointless.

I agree,Romney folded like a Cheap shirt when he was hit where it Hurts and dont think Obama and his wolves werent salivating, they have the Campaign ready to let everyone know he cant be trusted ,he is as Perry said,a Convienient Conservative and Blows with the wind and it is Obvious after last night he can be Gotten to on that and we have 4 more of Obama and the end of the United States.
The problem also is Romney has more of these issues that will turn off republican voters, the Enviornment for one with John Holdren of all people advising him. This Guy would be a Disaster. After all that the look he has on his face the entire time is really odd, talk abbout a Crooked Smirk,I swear this guy is scared to death someone is going to call him on one of the Multitude of his Flops and he is going to explode, put some makeup on the Guy and wipe that smirk off his face

You're right. In fact, he has done just the opposite. Like Bush and McCain he insulted us. He talked down to us. He ignores/ignored us. He lifts his pretty little texass nose up in the air to us. He panders to hispanics BUT NOT US. He takes us for granted. He sneers at us.

In short, he shows that he is more interested in the hispanic vote than the vote by Americans.

Good info. Keep it up. I hate Romney throwing out false accusations knowing there is no time to rebut until the next debate.

He is clearly trying to paint Perry as a lover of illegals. Perry better nip that "100000" discount to illegals too. Once people understand, and while they may disagree, Romney will be hurt for his tactics

I enjoyed it. Too many of these candidates get to be plastic. Pery is proud of his record and Mitt throws out unprovable accusation. Perry was pissed obviously.

It will calm way down once Bachmann and Santorum are gone. More time for everyone to explain their differences.

I like Paul in the debates but he probably should go to, then we have Cain,Mitt,Perry and Newt. Sit them around a table and go to town.

It's October. Clinton didn't win his nomination until spring. I like the banter.

So he’s more interested in getting 15% of the vote than 60? Come on, you are blinded.

My friend is a State Patrol office of 15 years and has guarded Perry and he disagrees. By the way did you know all Texas State Patrol officers have to do duty on the border no matter where they live?

My friend said that is some seriously hairy work on those long dark roads by yourself.

I was for Perry..100% in. Now, I don’t know. Perry seems like a real hot head that speaks before he thinks. The 999 plan is a stinker....say you have a 6% State tax on a 100.00 purchase..that’s 6 bucks..and add 9 more %...that now becomes 15 bucks...seems like a loser to me. And Cain had trouble explaining it. Romney is not even a consideration for me. I’m really stuck here...This field, I believe, leaves a lot to be desired. I was really hoping Perry was the clear choice, not even.

I find it interesting how much of these kinds of posts I’m seeing in regards to THIS PARTICULAR DEBATE, when there have been plenty of fireworks in most of the others. It seems that the one time a couple candidates FINALLY draw some blood on Romney (the most liberal candidate by far and the one we needed to make bleed), all of a sudden we have to put an end to these “childish games.”

Herman Cain “saved” Godfather’s pizza by cutting jobs as well, and he also “flipped” the company after he cut it down, only in his case, the “flip” was that the parent company gave up on Godfather’s and sold it at a loss to Cain and his management team.

In the time Cain ran Godfathers, from the day he started turning it around, to the day he finally left the company a decade later, he turned it around from the 5th-largest pizza chain to the 11th-largest pizza chain.

Of what vote? The American People or hispanics. I am sick of hearing how important a group of people, who identify themselves as something other than Americans first, are to the "vote".
