Pat Buchanans new book, Suicide of a Superpower, asks: will America survive to 2025? I bounce off the walls when I think about Buchanan. One minute I cheer him, the next minute I cant believe he actually said that. The Rio Norte Line has short but significant snippets from about 11 chapters of Suicide of a Superpower. They are worth reading. Buchanan gives a sobering look at what America is facing. While all the quotes are worthy of attention, the first from Chapter 1, and another from Chapter 10 stood out:
Chapter 1:
We have accepted today the existence in perpetuity of a permanent underclass of scores of millions who cannot cope and must be carried by society fed, clothed, housed, tutored, medicated at taxpayers expense their entire lives. We have a dependent nation the size of Spain in our independent America. We have a new division in our country, those who pay a double or triple fare, and those who ride forever free.
Chapter 10:
Are vital U.S. interests more imperiled by what happens in Iraq where were have 50,000 troops, or Afghanistan where we have 100,000, or South Korea where we have 28,000 or by what is happening on our border with Mexico?
What does it profit America if we save Anbar and lose Arizona?

Buchanan has a great point, unfortunately the argument is so un PC that he is going to get skewered.
Pat might live long enough to say “I told you so...”
Personally, I don’t think we are going to make it to 2025.
America will survive, but it will probably be called the People’s Democratic Republic of America (or whatever that is in spanish).
That is not much of a survival.
Pat is right. The progressive juggernaut has successfully compromised our schools and universities, our economics, our culture, our demographics(by allowing millions of third world peoples to immigrate) and now our military. What else is left for them to undermine? The only thing that stands in their way is the churches, and they’re working on that.
Pat Buchanan is full of malarkey.
He thinks he is the modern day Oswald Spengler.
It doesn’t take a genius to constantly proclaim the end.

“It doesnt take a genius to constantly proclaim the end.”
Eventually, all empires DO end, usually starting the downhill slide at about 300 years. How old are we?
I haven’t read Pat’s book, but we MUST vote the career politicians out of Congress. The Mormons and the Muslims want to take over the goverrnment. We are probably too well gone for a recovery to a Constitutional Republic! They’ve taken God out of the equation and without God there can no America.
I worked for and voted for Pat Buchanan in 1992.
Public School system: under Federal control, liberal beyond degree.
Universities: under Federal control, liberal beyond degree.
Military: compromised.
Demographics: deliberately skewed.
Economics: beyond belief -
Culture: debased, so far debased that it makes the 1940's Hollywood look conservative.
The Church: has been under attack since the beginning, but Jesus said not even the "gates of hades", or so to say, death, can prevail against His plan to separate a peculiar people for Himself.
But nevertheless, what NotTallTex said is so true. And given those facts what are we going to do? Elect another Rino? I suggest that the Gospel is the only answer. It was the Gospel that formed the character of the culture that gave us the Constitution. You can know them by their fruit: 250 years of political liberty in this nation, and the liberals are still having a hard time wiping it out.
Amazingly up to date! Read 2 Thesssalobnians 2.
But we’re not an empire.
We are at best a reluctant superpower.
But only because all the alternatives to our leadership were not exactly
things we wanted to live under. To say the least.
And this is still true today.
We are a nation of ideas. A nation founded for liberty.
If we allow the left to denigrate those ideas to the point where we don’t have the heart to defend those ideas, we will fall.
It doesn’t have to happen.
Pukannan is saying it is all but inevitable. Its been his one note samba for years.
Read his stupid magazine. He doesn’t like this country anymore than B.O. He wants to see it transformed also.

We will remain the world Super Power on every level and for a very, very, very long time to come.
God bless America.

I hope you are right and Buchanan isn’t. Time will tell.

No, but that’s what you get when a generation of pampered children who grew up with a shelf full of participation trophies, unlimited toys thanks to the parents’ credit cards, a useless degree, and a well-developed entitlement mentality get to vote.
Their children or grandchildren will grow up in poverty and hunger under the heel of the government’s boot. They will be forged into men of iron who will rise up and kill their oppressors and possibly resurrect the United States of America and its Constitution (the old one, not the new “living” one that our benevolent dictators will give us).
Compelling, and straight forward.
