Call me crazy, I think Ada is an ok language. Sure, not the be-all end-all of computer languages, and yes early compilers and run-time environments had lots of performance issues... But I like the package idiom, and the ranged limited type system...
Though I'll admit when the choice is up to me on languages to use to solve a problem I usually go with C++ or Java.

There’s a reason why FMS systems are written in Ada.
When it has to be correct (or else), using C or C++ is like playing Russian roulette with a 1911.
