My presence on this forum should be a clue as to which I chose. I don't have time to make my own electricity!

There wasn't much of an option here. If you want electricity you take the meter.

I refused to let them put it on my house.

I have to pay a $40 fine this month for refusing - and $12 a month fine hereafter.

But my brain won't get fried - and they can't monitor my usage and what appliances - right down to the make = appliances I use (there's a buried 'gidgit' that picks up the electric signature that can be traced to separate appliances and electric gadgets, like hair driers, curlers, what brand toaster, how long you run anything - on and on.

It they were truly only interested in saving energy, they could tell who was using excess and who was conserving merely by looking at a person's bottom line: their electric bill.] I isn't about conserving energy.

It's about control. Complete and utter control.
