No matter what GOP candidate goes against Obama, if Obama agrees to a debate, you can bet the narrators will send fluff questions to Obama, and ‘tuff’ questions to the GOP candidate.
I think of all the candidates, Mr. Cain will conduct himself in an admirable manner, with the right answers. I would hope that if they throw one at him which he is not sure of, he ill say so up front, then use the rest of his time to talk about what he does know.
In any case, the media will not be able to hide the light within Herman Cain.
He could also simply acknowledge the multiple meanings of the word advance and SIGN the SBA pledge with a provision that “advance does not mean ‘personally submit legislation.’”

The president has the power to advance any piece of legislation he wants to.

There are several lawyers on this thread who will all agree that the language of the Constitution as well as the history of the Republic all give the president the power to advance anything he pleases including legislation, policy, war. And his authority to propose legislation is specifically enumerated in the Constitution. You will not find a single constitutional scholar who would say otherwise.
Find me a lawyer who has done constitutional law work, appellate work or statutory construction work who agrees with you. You won't. Your position is untenable. Give it up. You are wrong. Cain is wrong.
Cain misspoke from obvious ignorance. Your defense of his untenable position is based on pure stubbornness. You have been educated on this issue. But you stick to your position solely because you are emotionally tied to Cain as your political savior. Well Cain isn't your political savior. Neither was Palin or Bachmann. Neither is Perry or Gingrich or Santorum. There is no political savior. Just a bunch of sinners and idiots and hypocrites and we are going to be stuck with one of them as our president.

I was undecided until Perry made that stupid ‘heartless’ statement. I’m not the only one who decided to back Cain instead of Perry over that.

A POORLY worded pledge that he cannot constituionally keep. His donation of funds to prolife groups and his comments on prolife say more than this stupid pledge.
I’m pro-life and I wouldn’t have signed it either. It is just grandstanding, it has no teeth, and I believe Cain saw that.

He has NOT spoken in favor of Gay marriage, quite the opposite, he supports DOMA
And he said he would consider ROmney, Newt, Bachman, Perry, and Santorum (IIRC) for VP. Not just Romney and it was during the debates when they were all saying that any of the other candidates would be good VP choices, it was a ‘love fest’ moment.
He is also not squishy on abortion or gay rights. Don’t buy the lies, LJ, these guys are guilty of bearing false witness.
