First, let me assure my friends that the rumors of my suicide have been greatly exaggerated.
A brilliant young Machiavelli in Topeka told me that politics is more like poker than chess. We do not know whats in the hands of the other players.
We will never know what factors went into Sarahs decision. Yes, it is heartbreaking for those of us who thought she articulated an effective platform, but we do not have time to waste postulating her reasons for not running for president.
Hours after the accident aboard Apollo 13, heroes Swigert and Haise had a fear-induced momentary melt-down and began to blame one another for their predicament. Jim Lovell restored order and focus by telling the men, We can go arround this for hours and hours and, when were all done, well be right back here where we started. So Gentlemen, lets get to work and go home.
Lovell echoed man on the ground, Gene Kranz, who was telling the NASA gray matter, Gentlemen, lets work the problem.
My profound conviction that Sarah would run was based on an obviously faulty analysis of her actions while leading the Tea Party and the apparent lack of candidate articulating the ideas embraced by the conservative base; the criteria she stated would dictate her decision to run.
I am deeply sorry I was wrong. I regret the loss of Sarahs Energy Revolution platform and I wish her and the her family all the very best.
(Brief pause for a few tears.)
Back to work.
Its time to work the problem.
What conservative can't figure out some of the factors? I mean, seriously. Is this really that hard?
