I couldn’t see what Bush did wrong. So he raised the deficit. How the heck was he supposed to replenish a depleted military, get pay raises for our service men and women, deal with the aftermath of 9/11, several natural disaster on the cheap? He did so without raising our taxes. One would only hope that Perry is like George W. Bush.

Bush and the GOP Congress didn't govern as fiscal conservatives. Bush spent way too much and the GOP Congress went along. Big annual deficits and $4-trillion added to the debt. Of course that pales in comparison to what Obama has spent. 4x larger annual deficits and more debt in 2-1/2 years then Bush added in 8 years.

I think Perry would govern as a fiscal conservative and reign in spending and regulations. With a GOP Congress on his side Perry would also lower taxes, then work on real entitlement and tax reform. Those policies and rolling back Obamacare would set in motion serious economic growth that would help to create jobs everywhere in America.
