Perry and Cain do not hold the same stance on immigration. Not even close.

Sorry, but Cain’s stance on borders alone completely sets him apart.

His stance is fourfold, not threefold:
1. Secure the Border
2. Enforce the laws already on the books (including deportation)
3. Encourage the path to citizenship already in place. That is not amnesty. The path to citizenship requires that they first come legally.
4. Empower the states to do what the Federal government cannot do.

SECURE THE BORDER:

Herman Cain’s border control stance is one of the strongest out there. It is a PHYSICAL border, technological and people.

Cain’s “promote the path to citizenship” is not amnesty. He has defined it in my speeches to mean immigrants must first come here the right way.

Empowering the states to do what they have to do. Case in point, Arizona - http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2011/05/21/20110521presidential-election-herman-cain-tea-party-ON.html#ixzz1N3xOwayJ

When did Perry say he was against sealing the border?

Perry has repeatedly sued/lobbied the feds to enforce the law.
Perry has not been an advocate for blanket amnesty. It fact you must prove you are on a path to citizenship in order to get the “in state tuition”

There is No BIGGER STATES RIGHTS CHAMPION that Rick Perry.

Herman Cain is blowing smoke.
His only point is that he is for a continuous fence, and he has no clue what that entails.

Cain doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Where is he going to put that “Great Wall of China?” In the middle of the 1200 miles of the Rio Grande, or as they do now, hundreds of yards in, cutting off homes from Texas, ceding the Rio Grande to Mexico and cutting productive farmers and ranchers from their lawful water rights? Then, the fence is regularly breached by illegal invaders, but the border patrol is spread too thin to respond, even when alerted to the fact.

And then, they do payroll audits instead of workplace raids, dump illegals they catch in Arizona a few feet over the border from Presidio, Texas, and dismiss 300,000 deportations in Houston and Dallas Federal courts — after letting the criminals go on their own bond.

Talk about killing the economy - you will kill the businesses and jobs that exist because farmers and ranchers have toughed it out all these years along the Rio Grande.

Remember the Texas motto - “Come and get it!” It’s as true today as it was 180 years ago, if you want to take Texans’ water rights and lands for a fence that doesn’t work.
