Are there any sources that show Texans opposed this when it was passed and that they oppose it now?

Who proposed the bill?

If one wanted to do the research I suppose that one could find all the evidence he wanted as to what happened in 2001. I’m just depending on my recollections off that period at the moment but I’ll guarantee you that if Texans were honestly polled on the question today you would find them in overwhelming opposition to in state tuition for illegals!

I’ll have to see if I can find out who actually carried the bills. That was a long time ago and I simply cannot recall.

The Texas legislature passed it the first time with only 4 no votes. Second time zero no votes.
