The Ford Fusion hybrid was a major embarassment... for TOYOTA. Why? Because quite frankly, it ate the equivalent Camry’s lunch. Thats one reason why Toyota had to improve the current camry. Fords version of hybrid technology was actually superior to Toyota’s. Competition is a good thing.
Ford started making the Escape Hybrid back in 2004, so they do have some experience under their belt.
