Katy Perry is a pop singer/songwriter who churns out annoying Billboard hits (“Firework,” “Teenage Dream,” “Hot N Cold”) that your tween-age kids love and you love to hate (yes, I speak from experience). She made news this week after tying Michael Jackson’s record of scoring 5 #1 Billboard hits off a single album.
She also made some little-noticed waves on Twitter that should be newsworthy.
In a response to a fan of hers on Monday, she tweeted:
Over the past 24 hours, all hell has broken loose — with Palestinian, Muslim, and progressive Twitter followers lashing out at Perry for her innocuous tweet asking others to pray for Israel. Here’s a small sample:
Many of her fans in Israel praised her for taking a stand. But alas, their praise was premature.
Late on Monday night, you see, Perry backed off. Pray for Israel? Neeevvver mind:
Not that she’ll be able to appease the unappeasable.

Her parents are committed Christians that didn’t even allow her to listen to secular music growing up. Katy grew up praying. Believe me. She knows what prayers means.
You do know that Katy started out in Christian rock, and her parents are still very devout.
Funny that's how the guys in Kings of Leon also were growing up.....sure make up for lost time once they grow up.
I want peace for Israel, but not the peace the Arabs have in mind for her....their peace involves all Jews leaving the land or lying dead.
If Israel had to create a 1000 mile buffer zone around her country for peace, then I support her.
That is what the occupied territories were, I think they need to reestablish them fully.
Put them back under martial law, agitate or commit crimes or violence, deport them.
I am amazed that rather than come to the defense of a fellow American who was verbally/online attacked by Muslims for daring to publicly ask for a prayer, all these God fearing people chose to attack her instead.

And she has openly rejected all of that. I doubt God hears her ‘prayers’ anymore.
She needs to repent and either come to Jesus or come back.
That said, I would have had a tiny amount of respect if she had stood her ground rather than backing down. Backing down is a sign of no principles.

WTH I mean by that is you apparently think you know what prayers God accepts and from whom, and have no problem telling the world about it. You also have not one word good to say about a person who admitted praying for a person in an area getting attacked by terrorists, was attacked online by their supporters and DID NOT RETRACT or BACK DOWN on her call for others to join in said prayer, which you then claimed she did.
If that’s what you consider ‘seeing’ then perhaps you might want to rethink the whole ‘christian’ thing because from where I’m sitting, that’s anything but.

Seems like she’s a decent kid who spoke from the heart, then was frightened off by the vile hatred of the Jews spewed by the left.
