It’s a pittance. I agree that we shouldn’t give a dime to illegals but under the 14th? amendment our hands are tied, so we have to make motions to that regard.

All of this really comes back to one simple thing. The border and our laws governing it.

Our very existence as a nation requires a border. As such, there are two kinds of people. Legal citizens, and illegal aliens. I understand what you are saying. I really do. But any capitulation to illegals and their citizen families/supporters chips away at the existence of the entire purpose of the border and render any laws governing it meaningless.

Earlier I mentioned Category Error. We as a society spend all our time and effort discussing, legislating and campaigning around the wrong problem. Here is the ONLY question that matters at all in the entire discussion over illegals.

“Do we have a border or not?”

That’s it. All others trace directly back to that. It does not matter if you are Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Joe the Plummer or Jose Estivez. If we HAVE a border, all these dream acts and welfare/medical for illegals are not even open to discussion because the existence of a border means you are legal or not. If you are not, then any law granting you ANYTHING but basic human rights until you are shipped back across the border should not exist to begin with...since your presence here is a direct violation of our border laws.

Sure this sounds pie in the sky in today’s ‘reality’ but under our Constitution, can it really be HONESTLY denied? No, it can’t. So that means all these laws, rules etc are just politics and the laws of men.

If we are a nation of laws as we claim and not one of men, then we need to elect men/women who WILL enforce the most basic of them...like the one that establishes our boundaries and not cater to people who want their personal preferences to be the governing authority.

If we cannot govern by our nation’s Constitution, we are not really a nation at all.
