Freedom Fries? I though they were Traitor Tots!
Years ago, before there was a Walmart, in my area at least, and we still had a few department stores, that unfortunately no longer exist, I was worrying over spending $2-$3 dollars on a new pair of no-name brand sneakers and Katie Couric was on her morning show, gushing something like “Ooooh, $700.00 that’s not not a bad price for a pair of yellow snake skin boots. That’s certainly a reasonable price for those. They are really nice.” $700.00? A reasonable price? Choke, Choke, Gag, Gag...Light dawns on my marblehead, as I had realized for a long time that TV was dominated by the wealthy, but just hearing that comment come out of her mouth as if $700.00 which would have clothed my family for the year, was an easier decision to make for her, then me buying $2-$3 dollar sneakers, was irksome. And I’ve had nothing but contempt for her and those of the same ilk as her.
