I also recommend a look at Tatum O’Neal’s memoir of Hollywood. She was a wonderful child star who endured some horrible treatment at the hands of adults.
This is nothing new, though. Years ago I read Cheryl Crane’s memoir of living with her mother Lana Turner and the book is one horror story after another for poor Cheryl.
I think it’s a reasonable supposition that almost any Hollywood child, who self-destructs, probably had good reason to do so.
