I just think it’s sort of wrong for Free Republic to essentially force bloggers to give FR free content in the form of the blog authors’ own copyrighted material. I was under the impression that the "Bloggers/Personal" forum was meant for this, and that when posted in the correct forum, it's ok to excerpt.

Apparently, even when posted in the Blogger/Personal section, bloggers have to post the entire content of their post, giving FR essentially free content, lest the horrible crime of getting a few hits be committed.
