There is no reason to be too down about this, although I do believe when we find out what is in the monstrosity, we will find it gave the dems whatever they felt was most important to them, especially no real BBA consideration for years. It must have given them what they wanted, because it avoids the government shutdown, which I believe they would have triggered because they wanted to play politics with one like in ‘95 -’96 for all it is worth. After all, there is nothing else Obama could have been threatening when he told Boehner “not to call my bluff”.
It is true that the actions of the 112th congress cannot bind the action of future congresses, no matter how much affection these politicians have for 10-year plans.
So, I see the 2012 elections resuming their place as the top concern because it is now August, just 15 months ‘til we get another chance for TEA change.
Well this bill is crappy but to me it's not as bad as TARP. I knew Republicans hit bottom when that bi-partision Bush/Paulson led monstrosity was forced through and many here still defend it.
