It is true he may have just used the name Soetoro and not have been legally adopted, but again, why would Lolo risk that? If it was illegal and each child had to carry a Gov issued ID?

I honestly do not know. But since it is common practice for kids of divorce (or from a previous sex act with another man, LOL) to take on the name of their new stepfather, that may have happened. It might never have been a formal adoption. Or it might have been a formal INDONESIAN adoption but never mentioned in the USA.
