I`m starting to suspect that apathy will defeat Obama—his rabid base will be dispirited just enough that a GOP candidate without the frenzied following Obama had will get over the line. On the other hand, the multiculti boobs might not want to let the first black prez lose to a [gasp] evil rightwinger. I don`t care about the cult of personality garbage on either side, and the ability to read a campaign writer`s speech and get people cheering in a rally doesn`t impress me at all. But they are indicators for so many voters that I`m resigned to them. I used to think just making the case for conservative governance was enough, but it`s not, and never was. All things being equal it seems the dirty secret of winning is as much about depressing the other guy`s turnout as it is whipping up yur own supporters.

Personally, I've always been fine hating the other guy more then liking my own, lol. Its just that, over the presidential elections, over the many many years, its always wound up, at the end of the day, the guy who is more liked by his own folks, winds up winning the white house.

Not that those folks were necessarily right, Lord knows, Jimmy Carter was a disaster, and to be blunt, no one liked Gerald Ford (republicans didn't even like Ford), but Carters people, like Carter more then Fords people liked him.

Obamas rabid cult of personality, has become full of despair, and your right, apathy, while there will be alot of idiots who don't want to see the first black prez lose to a evil right winger, no matter what, it won't matter.

I don't personally like the cult of personality stylings that are common with presidential candidates, it reduces everything to a cartoon, but at the end of the day, the side with the more "energetic" and enthusiastic "cult of personality" (for lack of a better choice of words), is the side that wins presidential elections...........and I don't see Zero, putting together that kind of eager following with his cult this time around, since so many of them have lost their jobs, their homes, and so much else since voting for him. Alot will stick with him, but alot will either not vote, or vote against him, but either way, his crowd won't have that same kind of "energy" this time around, the only way he wins, is if the GOP nominates a candidate, that people really can't get up for, hating Obama is not going to be enough to win the white house, no matter what, we'll have to have someone that we can actually like.

While I don't have any substantive facts for this statement, let me pose it then as a question: Out of every 100 voters who voted for the stain in the last election, how many voted for the stain due to his liberal, islamic, socialist blackness....and how many voted for the stain out of a viceral hatred of GW Bush and anyone like him?

How many times have we all read words to the effect of "I'd vote for anyone other than candidate X" or "I'll hold my nose and vote for candidate X rather than the other candidate."??

Hatred is a very powerful and long lasting reason to vote in a certain way. If we can use it....we most certainly should.
