My dog Tojo is very much like a kid. Its like having a perpetual two-year-old around the house.
(Plus he’s almost as expensive as a kid and listens about as well....)
;-)
Seriously, my dog IS a valued family member, and dog people understand this. I’m willing to bet that this over-educated hectoring bimbo Jennessa ever had a dog.
I'm betting you have forgotten the role animals serve in the life of humans. They are faithful companions, designed to perform necessary services. They are not a replacement for children or grandchildren.

Ask a greenie how much pollution and waste we generate taking care of our pets and watch them recoil. Ask them the same question but substitute the word children, and see how fast they suggest birth control.

I agree and glad you said “dog people” instead of dog owners.
Unfortunately there are too many owners who don’t appreciate their dog’s unconditional loyalty and love when accepted as a member of the family and treated as such.
Far too many dog owners are not dog people. Go to any shelter to see the evidence.

Love this lil dog, Jesse. Have you seen this yet?
Agreed on that! As for her snarky comment about not being offered water, she can get her own: she’s human and has that ability. Dogs cannot. They are dependent on humanity to treat them well - and they overheat much faster than a human.
My dog and I both agree with you. :-)
I’m with you. Our two “children” Buddy the Beagle and Coco the Chihuahua are our best friends. We love them dearly and spoil them rotten. They love us, entertain us and give us a lot of joy. I have loved and cared for animals since I was 6 years old. Nothing wrong with it and I encourage everyone to bring a pet into their lives. They give you more than you ever give them.
Memo to Jenaessa: Get a dog.
