Hoping to enjoy some time together, while taking in a showing of Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps with his wife, Tania, and daughter, Glenn and his family instead experienced an unfriendly and borderline violent scene. At one point, an angry moviegoer kicked a glass of wine into Tania’s back, and as she got up to walk away, a man shouted, “We hate conservatives here.”
When Glenn shared this experience with his staff this morning, no one could understand why he chose to stay. “All I wanted to do is go out on a blanket with my family and have dinner in the afternoon sun and sit around,” Glenn said.
“We didn’t leave. My staff said this morning said why didn’t you leave right away. That was uncomfortable. I said because I have a right to watch a movie and enjoy a movie with my family in the park. I have a right.”
In past I’ve seen it suggested that someone should create a “rent a tough guy” agency, that for liability purposes are disconnected from the celebrities who are footing the bill.
Unlike a bodyguard, whose person is to defend someone they know they are defending, a “tough guy” would be in a job like this to stop belligerent people from being belligerent, by intervening. And, discreetly, to “even the score”, by attacking attackers.
In a case, they would be tasked to just “be there”, and when the angry person kicked a glass of wine on Beck’s wife, the tough guy would approach the kicker and punish them in some way, for their lack of civility. Say, “accidentally” stomping on their foot, hard, before apologizing for it. Of course, if the belligerent took a swing at the tough guy, well, that would just be too bad, now wouldn’t it?
But the idea is degrees of separation. The tough guy would not know who was indirectly paying him, just that his purpose was to maintain civility, and punish the uncivil.
As a New Yorker, it DISGUSTS me. And they attacked his poor wife!
He must have been in Bryant Park where, in the summer, they show old movies outdoors. It’s pretty popular with young people and parents with kids.
I am constantly amazed at the viciousness of libs and embarrassed by my neighbors’ behaviors.

Well, sadly, this happened to Glenn. This is why Rush left. This is why Glenn wants out. This is why Glenn said his wife was the one who hated New York City the most between the two of them. Nuts run around. So one has to wonder how Fox News lasted so long without nuts doing something wild. Even Levin left to Virginia. They are growing violent. So if had anything to do with New York City, I’d be careful. This is why I bash California all the time and New York as well. I’m sure if I was in either state or similar areas, I’d forced to defend myself.

Levin's lived in Virginia a long time. Even when he did the WABC radio show one night a week, as I remember he lived in Virginny. Before that he was from Philly.
