“These go back to June and July of 2008. Considering Obama’s surprise upset of Clinton for the Democrat nomination was June 3rd, 2008 (IIRC) I would say FReepers were ahead of the curve and deserve a good deal of praise for their diligence.”

A surprise? Only if you hadn’t been paying attention to the race at all. Obama won the Iowa Caucus, he had been leading in the delegate count since February or March, and a lot of people had been calling for Hillary to concede as early as March.

Plus, Obama declared his candidacy way back in early 2007, and had given a nationally-televised speech in 2004 where he mentioned his non-citizen dad practically in the first paragraph.

June 2008 isn’t diligent. It’s three months late at best, and four YEARS at worst.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm afraid I can't live up to your expectations. Televised speech in 2004 or not, I didn't have a clue who Obama was when he entered the race. To be frank, I didn't care. My focus was on the Republican primary. I pushed for Duncan Hunter and ended up with John McCain ... imagine my disappointment. It wasn't until Obama overcame Clinton that he became a serious blip on a lot of FReeper radars -- I haven't review all my posts from that era but I assume that includes me. But the point is moot as I've stated several times. It does not matter when a Constitutional conservative becomes aware of Obama's non-citizen lineage. Today, tomorrow, and yesterday are irrelevant. What matters is what a Constitutional conservative does once he learns that Obama is the son of a foreign subject. Generally that progression starts with disbelief, then research, then acceptance, then frustration and anger --- and then a new birther joins the ranks and our numbers continue to grow. There are folks today in every step of the progression. Over all I am pleased with my fellow Conservatives. I just hope the tipping point is reached before the next election as that will make the clean up sooo much easier.
