The fundamental moral and political premise of socialism is that the individual does not exist as an end in himself, but exists as a means to the ends of others or “society”. The final result is economic chaos and tyranny.

Great summary by VDH which only makes me more confused as to why socialists still want to be socialists after viewing the facts? Aside from the technocrats who have a wealth-status stake in the game, who else embraces socialism knowing full well the dire results? Are people generally uniformed about the effects of socialism? Are people duped by the technocrats to believe that socialism is good? How could people think socialism is good after viewing the financial state of Ireland or Greece? I wish VDH would address this question.
