The Founding Fathers knew that only a virtuous and moral people are capable of freedom. As the people become more corrupt and vicious they have more need of masters.

Not sure why, but this morning it occurred to me the profound depths of depravity one must suffer - no, not suffer, choose - to engage in even “mundane” thefts. Oh, I know why it occurred to me: I was retrieving my car battery charger from next to the SUV, having left it there to charge the dying battery overnight, glad that it had not been stolen. What struck me was how very far over the line of civilization one must be to commit such an act, and how harshly society should respond (and doesn’t).

Marshals, vigilance committees, and citizens used to hang horse thieves and cattle rustlers. Merchants and farmers applied 12 gage justice to thieves, birdshot or rocksalt, their choice. Card cheats and pickpockets were shot and hanged if they tried to defend themselves, and we got to a point that you could leave your house unlocked.
All of this was done by consent of the general public and public intimidation of those that did not agree.
The day we prevented the honest citizen from using lethal force to defend his legal property is when we killed the society that prevents our decent into animal barbarism.

Its real goal is a sort of parasitism that assumes the survivability of the enfeebled host. The good Doctor comes close, so close, but still misses the mark. I submit that the real goal of the poseur in the White House - or more importantly, the monsters (yes, monsters) behind him is nothing less than this: millions of us dead, the remainder in chains, and the power-mad elites ruling from atop the ruins and the mountains of corpses. Some of them have even said as much and have blandly speculated as to how that goal might be achieved. Yet we alow them to live.

Ah, like a Democrat with a family history of prestige and support from tax revenues generated by the poor slobs who did the real work...er, from the fine arts.

Next time, connect your chainsaw to a live wire and wet the ground around it thoroughly.
