Will Memorial Day 2011 be the last one that we have? Will Memorial Day 2011 be the last one where we the people have the freedom to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice? Will we the people still hold the freedom that so many shed blood for in 2012 and earlier? I am not so sure.
Our nation was founded on a few simple truths, We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness
Today in our nation we have let ourselves stray far from where we started; we have cut out the GOD given right to life, we have had much of our personal liberty torn from us by an over bearing self-serving government and that has stolen, at last, the GOD-given right to pursue happiness.
Now one of the core beliefs this nation was founded on is threatened like never before. The freedom of Religion is under assault on a daily basis. The ACLU uses our very laws meant to protect our freedom against us and does all it can to remove from all public places any sign of religion. They have fought to get the cross removed from the war memorial in the Mojave Desert; they fight to have the 10 Commandments removed from Public property; and of course we cannot have prayer in school. The ACLU is one of the chief proponents of the downfall of our nation and it uses our own laws to destroy what was meant to protect us.

No. I guarantee that we will be celebrating Memorial Day just like this year in 2012.....all this doom and gloom. Seriously we are going to be fine. 1942 and 1977 were WAY worse than today.

In 1942, we were losing a war, but we had character and moral strength. In 1977, the economy sucked but we had character and moral strength. Today, we are losing wars, the economy sucks, and we lack character and moral strength, and we have a communist in the White House, communists teaching our children, and communists telling us the news.
And to all my fellow veterans....those still with us....and those who now watch over us....my most humble and heartfelt thanks for a job well done.

Alas, earlier generations would say that ship has already sailed.
