To be honest I thought it was real at first, because in reality it is too damn close to reality to be satire.

It's like racing for a satire writer. Reality is inside you on the turn, swinging wide, and you are between it and the wall. The lane keeps getting narrower.

I’m afraid that we Americans don’t quite understand that our country has been hijacked by forces that believe our Constitution is about some penciled comments on a piece of paper, easily erased and modified, and that protection from the forces of fictitious evil is more important than freedom.

Many of us do, and have for some time realized the hijacking was going on. To speak out about it just got you branded a crackpot.

This has been going on for a long time, but I'd say the slope of the curve changed in the sixties somewhere between people rioting in the streets and the "Great Society", the hippies, and the budding environmental movement.

Warnings about the potential for abuse of everything from giveaways to (in some cases) seemingly reasonable regulatory powers were shrugged off by those who would not jealously guard their freedom. It was tough being a voice crying out in the wilderness, but more people realize now that power--any power--will eventually be used by humans in the worst possible way, which we are seeing even more clearly now--but then not all of us.

Recall warnings about the potential for abuse of the Patriot Act? People supported it--patriotic people--never realizing that with a little tweaking the definition of 'terrorist' might include anyone opposed to the totalitrian machinations of their own anti-Constitutional government--namely themselves.

Power was granted to one administration freely when wnother might have been fought tooth and nail.

Now, here we are.

It doesn't matter who, it doesn't matter what party label they wear, it does not matter who they claim to worship nor how, not one of the politicians nor their minions who took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of these United States should be allowed to violate that oath and get away with it, much less be continue in office. They should be stripped of position, benefits, and salary, and fired.

Until people know their rights and take a stand, until more oppose the usurpation of power by those who should be their servants, we will be ever burdened with the chains of bondage and treated as chattel by those who would be our masters but who should serve us instead.

And until Americans quit worshiping their servants (as they did with the Kennedys and have often continued to do), this simply will not change.

Instead, we give the butler who stole the house silverware a raise, and praise the guards who helped him for keeping us 'safe'.

Before anyone who might misinterprets that let me simply say this:

May Almighty God Bless each and every one of those who have fought, who have sacrificed for this wonderful country, in uniform or not, in the past, the present, and who will in the future. May we, the American People, be worthy of the opportunities won by their blood, sweat, and travail, and may we all do the part we are called upon by God and honor to preserve and regain the Liberty so dearly won. I ask this in the Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

Hang in there FRiend, it's just starting to get really interesting.

I agree 100%. It’s is going to take much more than donating to Party candidates or posting on forums or listening to talk radio to insure that our rights are not usurped.

The current movement of the USA has not been in the direction of more liberty. I’ve read where the so-called organizations that have the ear of government are on the watch for Americans who espouse liberty. They see it as a threat to their status quo.

My vote will be for the only candidate that consistently touts and supports the Constitution, because in the end that is the only concrete document we have that supports continuation of our democratic republic.

These other issues that sometimes get the limelight are intentional distractions.
