So 500k a year for a very high ranking job is excessive now?
What makes it such a "high ranking job"? I find it difficult to believe there aren't plenty of people amply qualified who would take the gig for $150K a year. This is a big time liberal scam. They create non-profits or bureaucracies and bleed off a major part of the funding with outlandish salaries and then pat themselves on the back at how compassionate they are by obtaining such great funding for "the poor". List the three biggest accomplishments of the IMF in the last 10 years. (I can't either)
If he wants that level of compensation, he should get in the Banking industry. He is a government worker, solely supported by taxpayers. Give me one good reason he should have a 3000 dollar hotel room on my dime. He is a european communist, and his job if to distribute a bucket of tax dollars. He is not a banker,,, and should not be paid like one.
And high paying jobs in the private sector have to answer to a board of directors. They also ultimately have to show results. The director of the IMF only had to hand out cash to people that the contributing governments approve of. It is only justified to pay him that much if we cannot find someone of superior quality for less. Are you really suggesting that we could not find incredibly better people than this guy for 200 k less?

Because there should be no IMF. The organization has lived far beyond any claim to usefulness. Right now the organization is only concerned with shoveling the contributions from the US into poor Euro-zone countries... and living high. And we don’t have any money.
