“And in my experience, the mods deal with wacky posts from both sides of the argument fairly. “

Your experience is not recent.

Yes it is. I was talking about post pro and con mormonism

You are talking about something else apparantly.

This is a little confusing:

**JR also stated that He would not restrain the “bashers and then proceed to ban many long term Mormons from FR.**

I would have to see where Jim said that.

I don't think he would allow baltant unleashed bashing of mormons and at the same time ban many long term mormons for no reason except that they are mormon.

You mentioned in another post that mormons are Christians.

That's great news!

Can you show me where in the official writings that this has been refuted and rejected from the LDS beliefs:

"Nothing less than a complete apostasy from the Christian religion would warrant the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." (Documentary History of the Church, Introduction, xl)

****************

I must join none of them (Christian Churches), for they were all wrong...that all their creeds were an abomination in His sight" (Joseph Smith History 1:19).

"...orthodox Christian views of God are Pagan rather than Christian." (Mormon Doctrine of Deity by B.H. Roberts, p.116)

"...the God whom the 'Christians' worship is a being of their own creation..." (Apostle Charles W. Penrose, JD 23:243)

"What does the Christian world know about God? Nothing...Why so far as the things of God are concerned, they are the veriest fools; they know neither God nor the things of God." (John Taylor, JI) 13:225)

"Believers in the doctrines of modern Christendom will reap damnation to their souls (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p.177)

"I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true." (Joseph Smith, DHC 1:6)

Thanks, that will set my mind at ease!

Here is a quote for you:
"Not at all. Just having a hard time accepting some of their threads (like this one for example) that I find extremely offensive. I’m at the point that I’m not going to allow any protected LDS/Mormon Caucus threads on FR. You can’t post offensive stuff like this and expect Christians not to object to it. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to suspend or ban or deny any Christian from objecting to what he believes is the false prophecy of Joseph Smith. Whether Mormons will feel welcome here after this or not is completely up to them individually."
I don't have a link to the thread in any case it was locked and moved to the Smokey back room, but here is an article that statistically analyzes it and quoted from it: Anti-Mormon 'purge' coming on Free Republic?

Good enough?

Now as to apostasy, you ask for evidence, I give you the first council of nicea. The creation of the Trinity is the single most obvious example of apostasy happening at one point in time that I know of. The Jews don't believe the Trinity, the First and Second century Christians Don't believe the Trinity, but in 325 AD, the Trinity becomes doctrine. "Orthodox Christianity" today is defined by a belief in the trinity (a word that appears nowhere in the KJV Bible.

I go into Great detail here The Trinity on my page here at FR.

This should explain all the quotations you asked me to explain. and Yes, Mormons are Christian, but we are certainly not "Orthodox Christians"
