Stanley Ann's very close friend from Mercer Island High said that SADO was meeting the in-laws in Kenya and was unable to get back to Hawaii before the baby was born. So she had the baby in Kenya and flew back BOAC to Seattle with little Barry and went to college.

In addition, SADO traveled from Nairobi to Mombassa by train (Mombassa is the spelling used in 1961; today it is Mombasa).

The reason she went to Mombassa involved giving birth in a hospital that catered only to whites. (The information I received said she was turned away from hospitals BECAUSE she was white, and had no choice.)

After Barry’s birth she flew from Nairobi via Glasgow, Scotland to Vancouver, B.C. There she parted company with the American missionary woman who was traveling on to the Eastern Seaboard. This woman had accompanied her all the way from Kenya.
