I might, if you provided any evidence that the donors would have wanted to use that money to send the wife of a student to Africa and back. If not, and if Ann or family were paying, it was not deductible. And very expensive.

You guessed first. You guessed they could not have afforded the cost. So I think I am entitled to guess back and show how it could have happened. Those people were involved, along with the Kennedys.

When a tax rate is 98% or so, and rich people are involved, you can do a lot of stuff for two cents on the dollar. And have money left over. Neither one of us knows for sure, but I have definitely shown one way it could have been feasible.
