Hey, if someone I am largely unfamiliar with is writing a book about a conspiracy theory, it does not surprise me if a book about a conspiracy theory appears on his alleged portfolio which I am largely unfamiliar with (but which I do recognize the other work listed as a real book).
Heck, _I_ could write a convincing book about the “moon landing coverup”. (Didn’t say I _believed_ the conspiracy theory, but I could write a darn good book about it.)
That’s just cultural literacy. Capricorn One references a seminal 1978 movie about a faked Mars mission and subsequent cover up. It became fodder for not only other fictional imitations but whack jobs everywhere.
The author of this article isn’t responsible for his readers understanding of his pop-culture references. It’s sufficient that he made them.
