My provider changes my IP every month or so. I think they do that to foil those who try to host a website at home.

I have a widget that alerts me when my IP has changed.

The do not even give you the option of having a static IP?

My provider does but invariably, the IP I’m given *sucks*.

We are allowed to host sites and that’s how I know about my static capability but after 2 weeks of crawling-death-slowness, I switched back.

Ironically, my ‘dynamic IP’ number has remained unchanged for *years*, possibly because the cable modem never gets turned off.

Life’s little [irrelevant] mysteries.
