Thanks for re-posting this Oct 2008 story.

Mark Lippert, the man Obama selected as his personal contact with Odinga is particularly creepy! A Leahy Senate staffer socialist operative, he apparently was sent by Leahy in 2005 over to Obama’s staff to guide Obama on national security matters and at the same time he obtained an administrative appointment as a Naval officer (a "Direct Commission" doubtless using Leahy’s influence). Then Lippert went on after the election to be Obama’s inner circle interface to the National Security Council!

Lippert was in Kenya with Obama and even carried on extensive correspondence with an Obama half-sister (presumably Obama’s older sister with the German Ph.D., Auma) and even an engagement is suggested! Lot's of opportunity there for Lippert to have been directly involved with Odinga and the Obama sister in suppressing Obama’s Kenyan BC, IMO.

According to a Wall Street Journal article posted on the Obama campaign website, Lippert is doing double duty: in civilian life as Obama’s chief foreign-policy adviser and in the military as a Lieutenant JG who is planning to serve as an intelligence officer for the Navy SEALS.
The site gives Lippert, 34, credit for helping “hone” Obama’s anti-war views.

The website report states: “Over the past two years, Sen. Obama and Lt. Lippert have traveled around the globe together, played one-on-one basketball and shared each other’s shoes. Lt. Lippert has continuing email exchanges with the senator's half sister in Africa. Sen. Obama encouraged Lt. Lippert to get engaged. Sen. Obama calls Lt. Lippert, ‘one of my favorite people in the world.’”
Lippert previously worked at the State Department and at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, Md.
The report says Lippert accompanied Obama as an adviser to Russia and then to Kenya.

Mark W. Lippert (born February 28, 1973) is the former Chief-of-Staff for the National Security Council in the Obama administration.

Biography

Lippert grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Stanford where he received his degree in international relations.[1] He started out as a policy advisor to Senator Patrick Leahy and a Vermont political organizer. He worked for five years in the Senate Appropriations Committee Foreign Operations Subcommittee. He also handled foreign policy and defense issues for the Senate Democratic Policy Committee. In 2005, he both became a senior foreign-policy aide to Senator Obama and joined the Navy Reserve and was commissioned as a Direct Commission Officer into Naval Intelligence. From 2007 until the summer of 2008, he served about a year[1] in what had been scheduled as a nine-month tour of duty in Iraq as an intelligence officer for the Navy SEALs; as of 2008 he was a Lieutenant, junior grade, promoting to full Lieutenant no later than 2010. He played a key role in Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

On October 1, 2009, it was announced that Lippert was resigning from the Obama administration to return to active duty for the U.S. Navy.[2] As of May 2011, he is slated to become Pentagon`s assistant secretary for Asia-Pacific security affairs.[3]
