The best way of knowing what is going on, is to get 5-10 friends who live in different places around the US, and ask them to, once a week, note the price of several different common things, on an agreed upon list with standard rules. Create a blog for just them and you.
For example, 2% milk, and the lowest price for a gallon the store offers. Also note if there is a sale or special price.
After doing this for a few months, it should be very clear what is happening in the national economy, as far as food is concerned.
You know....we should get a regular thread posted here on FR that does just that....report in each week, and someone take the lead and chart it.....I cannot believe there is not an outside group that looks at the costs (outside of the gov’t reports)....but, if not...we should...
I can remember when the evening broadcast news did something like that (20-30 years ago?). They'd have a standard "shopping cart" full of goods and household items, a typical basket of items for the typical American household, and compare the prices over time.
The Super 912 Seniors have been doing this for a few months after being asked to monitor certain food items by Glen Beck. The prices have been going up by leaps and bounds during this time along with gasoline. Yet according to Obama there is no inflation. The Obama administration took food and energy off the calculations. Nothing but big fat lies. Grey Eagle
For example, 2% milk white colored water, and the lowest price for a gallon the store offers.
