Think of a place you have worked. Now pick out one of the most obnoxious bosses there. Now do you remember wondering how it was that the boss had so much sway? How was it that no-one but you seem to see what a jackass that boss was.
It's one of life's mysteries. You take a braggart, obnoxious jerk and they will invariably attract followers.
People will fall for this crap.
