In the United States the validity of a state or national law is based on the Constitution, isn’t it? Whether a proposed law is part of a set of Sharia laws is irrelevant, isn’t it?

Are changes to our law being proposed that would be unacceptable except for the fact that they are part of Sharia law?

Take wife beating. Is someone arguing that whereas it would normally be unacceptable, because it is part of Sharia law it will be considered acceptable? That makes no sense.

Can someone clarify this issue for me? I don’t see why it is an issue at all.

Sharia law is a system of legal and illegality based solely on the Koran and Islamic teachings. In the United States, it has been widely panned because of its disrespect towards women, amongst other things. Likewise, Sharia law could not be implemented in the United States because it would violate the belief in a separation of Church (or in this case, Mosque) and State.

No SHARIA LAW should be in ANY STATE.

Despite this, however, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri Richard Callahan assured Missouri Muslims yesterday that the Obama Administration would likely step in on behalf of Sharia law should any state try to ban it.

Hey MORON, what part of the 10th amendent don't you understand? You should read IT again.

Discussing the Missouri State Legislature's attempt to limit Sharia law, Callahan stated:

"The Department of Justice has a good history of challenging laws passed by state legislatures. If some laws are passed, I think you will see challenges by the federal government on the constitutionality of them."

Mr. Callahan, There is something called the CONSTITUTION that limits the FEDERAL POWERS. If you LIBERALS want a CIVIL WAR, I'll fight.

If you Callahan want to dress your wife and daughters in BURKAS, be my GUEST, but I want my wife and daughters to be able to wear what they want -- from a bikini to a baseball uniform.
