I don’t want to ‘liberate’ Islamacists.
I want them to ‘owe’ us anything or us ‘owe’ them anything.

You are living in a fantasy world. It will take generations for us to become energy independent. We are going to add 130 million people in the next 40 years. Since 2000, we have added 29 million. We are going to have to run in order to stand still when it comes to meeting our energy needs.

Oil is a fungible commodity. The global economy depends on the free flow of oil from the Middle East. Saudi Arabia has the world's largest reserves of exportable oil and Iraq has the second largest reserves. That is a reality we must deal with. It is in our strategic national interests to keep that oil flowing. It involves not only our economy but the global economy.

We liberated Iraq because it was in our national interest to do so. Saddam had used WMD against his own people as well as against the Iranians. He had harbored terrorists like Abu Nidal and members of AQ. He had invaded Kuwait and Iran. After 9/11 we couldn't take the chance of allowing hm to stay in power.

Here is why we liberated Iraq: Text of Joint Resolution On Iraq Passed By The United States Congress
