Does it prove he is a natural born citizen? Obviously his father was not a U.S. citizen. What were the rules at that time regarding one parent being a citizen?
You and I know that both parents are supposed to be natural born citizens but this is over. Today Obama did what the birthers wanted and it is done. The birthers will just look silly if they continue with this. The whole natural born citizen rules are a bit to broad. They should have been more concrete and exact in their explanations. Americans are not going to care about his father’s citizenship. I promise you that. If only FREEPERS voted for Obama than it would make a difference. We have so much other issues to get him on that we should focus on those.
There is NO requirement that EITHER parent be born in the USA.

The term “natural born citizen” is not defined in the Constitution or the US Code.
Birther bluster to the contrary, there are no precedents which are on point.
If the certificate is not a forgery (which, by now, would entail “a conspiracy so vast..”) it proves Ann Dunham’s child was a US citizen by birth, that he was given the last name “Obama” at birth, and that his father was not a US citizen.
Unless the definition of NBC can be litigated to the point that the “2 citizen parents” concept becomes valid US law, or this document can be proved a forgery, it’s over.
