I think you make a good point.

I think Trump will make the competition stronger than they would be otherwise.

An additional reason to support Trump now, regardless of how any one of us might choosed to vote, is his candidacy puts terrific pressure on the GOP estblishment to come up with somebody, acceptable to the Tea Party, who can take on Trump and beat him in the primaries. That will require a pit bull who will attack the Illegal as hard as Trump is attacking him, IMHO either Rick Perry or Chris Christie.

We don't need Trump to pressure the GOP establishment to come up with good Tea Party candidates. Palin, West, Bachmann and Cain are all good potential Tea Party candidates.

BTW, Perry and Christie ARE establishment RINOs.

Thanks for sharing.

I appreciate the dissenting arguments and I didn’t see that article when it was posted.

If Trump is using a “pseudo-Presidential run” merely to build a high podium from which to attack Barack Obama’s record, birth situation, etc., then more power to him; as someone said recently, “Trump makes a great attack dog against Obama!”

But one of the reasons conservatives are criticizing Trump so early is that we believe he MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO WIN THE PRIMARY. Given enough led-by-the-hyped-up-emotions people (and our electorate has a staggering number of those), Trump could easily “flash-and-wow” his way into the nomination... which would, frankly, be a complete disaster—since Trump is liberal/libertarian, and not conservative.

(If he wanted to run for the U.S. Senate against Chuck Schumer, on the other hand, I’d be all for it!)

Without Trump, the GOP campaign will be a snooze-fest, I guarantee with Trump in the race, a lot more people will tune into the GOP debates.

You are correct. The media wants him quashed but is unable to do it. We have 15 months to decide. I think Trump thinks Obama is a buffoon puppet and is killing the America he grew up in. I agree with him.

Hadn't seen that.

>>>>>..now there’s “the Donald,” who really is a good fit for the modern Republican Party: More money than actual knowledge, understanding, wisdom, or sense. Totally centered on celebrity, money, and media. Shallow. Unprincipled. Deceptive. .. Trump, ever the brash, arrogant showman, throws caution to the wind and says anything to pander to the lowest common denominator. No demagoguery is beneath him,

Nice slice and dice job on Trump.

Yeah, so were was Trump at in '09 and '10 huh?
Governor Palin has been attacking Obama since then, she isn't beholden to the GOP establishment, she doesn't care about the liberal media, and she too is wealthy & powerful and has thousands of grassroots conservatives ready to spring into action the minute she declares.
I reject your premise. Trump is a sideshow circus freak. He isn't advancing anything that has already been discussed. Barry would love for the BC issue to be in the news so he can continue to destroy our economy, our strength, and the American people in the process. We have serious issues that aren't being discussed. I'm not worried about him running 3rd party or independent because there's no way in Hell conservatives are going to support him anyway.

Its the way the Right works. We destroy ourselves. WE are going to put Obama back in office by spiting ourselves. So what if Trump is not a true conservative. Neither are any of the other candidates WHO ACTUALLY HAVE A SNOWBALLS CHANCE OF WINNING A GENERAL ELECTION!

If we don’t get behind someone, anyone who can actually beat O in a general election we are gonna end up with Romney who will all but guarantee that O gets another 4 years.

Both the left and right are attacking Trump. Seems similar to when both were going after Palin.

The political elite do not like outsiders. They threaten the system that keeps recycling the same people and shadow interests in government.

You’re not alone.

We’ve been here before and I agree, this is beyond ridiculous. After posting the facts on Trump’s liberal record for several weeks, its sad to see so many have been hoodwinked by this professional huckster.

Seems like many people are scared of the “third party” scenario.

What happens if the GOP nominates another McCain? Will the Tea Party sit back and take that?

I don’t think so.

There could be a Third Party candidate and it may not be The Donald.

JMHO

Trump has exposed a whole new layer of unprincipled folks in the GOP. A substantial one.
