I saw the blatantly phony explanation given by Bill O'Reilly last night in answer to a viewer's question as to how Barack Obama was using a Social Security number issued to a Connecticut resident (as can be determined by the first three digits of the SSN).

O'Reilly's attempted cover-up of this inconvenient fact was to state that Obama's father was living in Connecticut at the time and might have used his address on his son's paperwork. But we know with virtual certainty that Obama Sr. was in Kenya at the time (1977) when that SSN was issued. Even going back much earlier to Obama Sr.'s time living in the US, he had residences in Hawaii, then Massachusetts (where he attended Harvard), but never Connecticut.

If the FOX management had any integrity, they'd boot O'Reilly out of their studios for such an egregious lie. It's the biggest whopper told an the air in connection with a sitting president since Dan Rather's notorious "Bush was AWOL from the National Guard" story in 2004.
