The fake pearls photo has this caption: Courtesy Mercer Island High School Yearbook. I guess nobody wanted credit for that one, not even Tony Nugent.
The other photo, given its source, would have had to come from the 1958 yearbook. In my opinion, 1958 was the first year a yearbook was published. That makes SAD a 10th grader in that photo if she was indeed in the class of 1960.
Her birthday being in Nov., btw, would have put her in the class of 1961 in most school districts - then and now. In the 1958 year book you would find class of ‘58, ‘59 and ‘60 (MIHS was a 3 year high school for quite some time after it opened in ‘55 and did not have 9th graders.)
If SAD wasn’t placed ahead one year somewhere along the line, then she would not have been in Tony Nugent’s 1958 yearbook. Of course that would have created a major problem - it wouldn’t have allowed for the Hawaii conception of Barry Obama and his subsequent birth in Aug. of 1961, would it?
I sure do like the understated way you put that...have a cigar!

Fred has tracking for her all the way back to the first grade; year on year, it all fits if she did each year in order in the standard progression.
You are correct, in the Seattle Pub district in that period, the line was late October so her birthday would normally have put her in the class of 61. But Fred's work has her ticking along with the class ahead (1960) from the first grade and I think it is likely to be correct--at a minimum.
Her earlier classes would indicate that is what happened which would have left her in the class of 1961.
That said, thinking about the issue--she was bright and maybe somewhere got bumped a real 12 month year at around the time they moved to Seattle; if she had been in the class of 1959, that would answer a number of the otherwise anomalies in the time lines.
