(We call my grandmother Tutu, Toot for short; it means “grandparent” in Hawaiian, for she decided on the day I was born that she was still too young to be called Granny.)

The problem is that we've never heard of her being called "Tutu", only "Toot", a word with no hawaiian definition. The more likely explanation is that the 3rd great grandmother of Madelyn Lee (Payne) Dunham was named Anna Maria Toot. So we have another 0bama LIE!

And I’m thinking phonetic pronunciation...he wrote home to the Clan from the US while he was working for an oil company and told them he married ANNA TOOT.

TOUTONGHI. TOUT. TOOT.

Funny...when Joseph and his second wife lived in XXXX, and he sold real estate, he used to advertise using the name JOE TOUT.

I suppose that link will disappear now that I have brought it up...I think the obots are lurking...so on second thoughts, I X’d out the name of the town.
