Occam’s Razor, dear friends. What is more likely, a nefarious mind control machine tested by the CIA on random TV announcers, or a transient ischemic attack or partial seizure involving the right fronto-temporal region and producing a jargon aphasia? Four in a row is an odd coincidence, to be sure, but it is perfectly explicable by natural processes.
LEFT fronto-temporal region, that is.

About a quarter of a million TIAs occur in the U.S. annually.

That’s about 700 per day. And the incidence rate (83 per 100,000) is considerably higher among females of Judge Judy’s “vintage.”

That said, a disappointingly high fraction of the population seems to favor nefarious conspiracy theories over dull probabilities such as these.
Actually, I wondered if they were using some sort of new technology, a lighting system for instance, that might possibly trigger something in susceptible people. Migraines can be triggered (for instance) by certain types of lighting. This many in a row made me wonder if there was some new high tech lighting or sound gizmo just out. It’s a thought (and much more likely that a weird conspiracy).
