Obama Continues Strong Followership On Libya

ARAB LEAGUE ASKS WEST FOR NO-FLY ZONE AS REBELS LOSE HEART

Rebels in Lybia have pleaded with the international community to impose a no-fly zone day after day as Muammar Gadhafi’s forces have steadily gained strength and the probability of ousting the brutal dictator has begun to slip away.

Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, Gadhafi’s justice minister who resigned to protest “excessive use of force” against unarmed demonstrators expressed disappointment Saturday over the failure of the United States and other Western countries to take action. Apparently Barrack Obama’s expression of “solidarity with the rebels” hasn’t done much to protect the freedom fighters from the regime’s fighter jets.

Late last week, British Prime Minister David Cameron backed French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s call for air strikes against Gadhafi while Barrack Obama gave a pathetic speech on the Libyan crisis without even mentioning the dictator by name.

Among his “courageous” statements:

“We are doing everything that can be done to stop the suffering and bloodshed.” (Really? Do you honestly think anyone believes that?)

“We condemn the violence.” (Of course you do; you always “condemn the violence.”)

“Everyone must speak as one voice.” (There’s that internationalist we’ve come to know and so NOT love.)

“Secretary Clinton will travel to Geneva on Monday for a special session of the Human Rights Council.” (Wow, that’ll sure strike fear in Gadhafi’s heart, huh?)

“A full range of options to deal with Libya are being explored.” (So are you saying you’ll do the right thing after exhausting all other options, or what?)

Now the Arab League has asked the United Nations to impose a no-fly zone over Libya. HELLO Mr. President…ARABS are asking us to impose a no-fly zone against an ARAB so he will stop killing ARABS. What part of TAKE ACTION don’t you get?

The Obama administration “welcomed the decision” of the Arab League. White House spokesman Jay Carney said the United States will “prepare for all contingencies” and “coordinate with allies.” You best get “coordinating” Mr. President; innocent people continue to die, as does the hope of the Libyan people.

If the dream dies before you get around to acting like the leader of the free world, a no-fly zone won’t be necessary; nor will it prevent Muammar Gadhafi from exacting the horrifying revenge he has threatened once the rebellion is crushed.

Barrack Obama’s followership will be remembered as a hallmark of his presidency. Right up there with “No we can’t.”

He is not going to do a thing. His buddy Farrakhan loves Ghadaffi.

What, me lead?

Brocko has already stated his avowed objective in these uprisings — to come down on the right side of history. That is why his “vote present” strategy worked for him in the past.

He thinks voting “present” will still work for him now.

He is wrong.

Oh; and he’s a pantywaist.

What a great headline! I think we’ve created a new word - “followership”!

Shouldn’t the correct word be “following”?

“A full range of options to deal with Libya are being explored.”

Translation: we're dithering while hoping the situation resolves and moots itself.

As Obama sits with his thumb in his mouth, Gadhafi is slaughtering the rebels. Once he has killed off the leadership, the rebellion will collapse and it will be several more generations before they try again.

I’m all in favor of a no-fly zone. Any reason the Saudis with their up to date F-16s can’t do it?
