Note the push to complete before the 30% subsidy expires.

To get people to do something stupid you often have to pay them to do it, and, like many government programs, when the capacity is not enough they simply double down throw more money at it.

With all that is going on in the Middle East, combined with our limitations on domestic oil and gas production, we could easily see this country, and much of the world, brought to a screeching halt from the lack of energy. We have not had an energy shortage, other than perhaps during WWII, gasoline has always been reasonably priced except for the taxes they keep piling on it, until all of a sudden, starting in the 1960s, Communists supported groups became unduly concerned with the environment. Since then they have been hampering energy production by burdening it with taxes and regulations and restricting its production. Why? They are directing our efforts away from the cheap and proven supplies onto unproven and questionable methods, most of which are proving inadequate and even harmful. Why?

This is all the result of central control replacing the free market. If it needs doing the free market will recognize it and find the cheapest and most efficient way to do it.

How did we lose our way? We didn't! We have been hijacked!
