If he was born in Hawaii, then he is a natural born citizen IAW the Founder’s intent in using that legal phrase. If he wasn’t, then he is not eligible. Period.

Really? What then was the purpose of the “grandfather clause” contained in the eligibility requirements? Without it George Washington no less, who was born in Virginia, would not have qualified to be POTUS. Why, because he was born as a British subject, same as the son of the goat herder who only temporarily stepped foot on US soil and never was a US citizen. So if you can show me that Barry was born on or before the adoption of the US Constitution then he is a native citizen at best.

Actually, the grandfather clause allowed folks born outside the US to become President. For example, Alexander Hamilton, who was born in the British West Indies.

NBC is the Americanized version of ‘natural born subject’, a phrase with a specific meaning in English law - one that included those born within the realm of TWO alien parents. There were exceptions for invading armies and diplomats.

If the Founders wanted to require two citizen parents, then they could have said so, instead of using a phrase that meant otherwise.
