I always thought Fairleigh Dickinson was in New Jersey.
It is, but the idiomatic term "best ... the northeast has to offer" usually means one of the Ivy League schools (e.g. Yale, Harvard, Brown, Princeton) or possibly one of the former seven sisters (Smith, Wellesley) or even a very selective non-Ivy if you want to stretch the definition a touch (Wesleyan).
Fairleigh Dickinson doesn't fall into any of those categories.

I guess I am wrong, for slighting the oh so important IV league. It has always seemed to me that the elites in this country always and I do mean always think that they and their northeast education and/or upbringing is oh so much better than the rest of us.
Of that I know I am not wrong.
