Via DrudgeReport: In an ironic and most sinister development, the long arm of Attorney General Eric Holder and the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) has reached out to the sovereign nation of Iceland in the criminal investigation of Wiki-Leaks honcho Julian Assange. Among several others who are the subjects of a Court Order demanding that Twitter turn over some pretty extensive personal information on its subscribers is one member of Icelands Parliament Birgitta Jonsdottir (photo to left).
The DOJ basically wants access to all of Jonsdottirs Twitter communications with Mr. Assange and all of her personal financial records with regard to Twitter. I can tell you with some confidence that if Twitter is forced to turn over the material, there is a good chance that the DOJ will ask for further information that turns up as a result of the original order. Big Brother is angry. You can view the PDF order here:

There is no question that the United States government has been thoroughly embarrassed by revelations contained in the stolen documents. Among the more rankling spilled beans are diplomatic communications regarding the on-going financial support for Al Quaeda that is provided by the government of Saudi Arabia all done as President Obama knelt and paid deference to the King. The resulting diplomatic scurrying about to maintain the illusion that the Saudis are allies of the U.S.A. continues, even as the Saudis provide the means to kill American soldiers and Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan. How much more rotten can this get?
The smuggling of long-range missiles from North Korea to Iran was another item revealed by Assange and company. Why the U.S. government believes that piece of information should be kept secret from the American public is a mystery unto itself.
There has been much rhetoric about people being at risk of losing their lives and secret operatives identities being compromised by the Wiki-Drama. Bill Clinton, himself, joined in that chorus when the story broke. So, the public calls have come to put Assange into prison, to have Assange executed as a spy, to have Assange assassinated as a grave threat to our national security and freedom. And by all appearances the DOJ is going to do everything within its power to protect us from the dangers that Wiki-Leaks, Assange, Jonsdottir, and all the others tied to this story present to the people of our nation.
Heres what is so troubling:
This is the same Attorney General and DOJ that inexplicably dismissed the 2008 election day voter intimidation case against three members of the New Black Panthers in Philadelphia one of whom was armed with a police baton and brandished the weapon at voters as they entered the polling place. One witness claimed he heard it said, You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker. It was all caught on video.
What greater threat to freedom could there be than allowing this kind of activity at a polling place? And what does the dismissal of the case say about the nature of this administration?
Wait. Theres more: This is the same President who is content to withhold his long-form birth certificate and allow a highly decorated U.S. Army officer to be sent to Leavenworth prison for demanding proof that the Commander In Chief is Constitutionally eligible to hold office.
Now, a member of Icelands parliament is about to have her personal financial records turned over to the same DOJ so that questionable U.S. foreign policy can go on under the intimidating cover of secrecy? Big Brother is very angry.
Holder and his DOJ can pound sand.
The Obama administration does seem to be a bit schizophrenic in this regard. On the one hand, it bows to foreign crowned tyrants, and yet on the other, it tries to subpoena the elected officials of sovereign democratic nations...
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Uggggh, guilty.
That may be, but it looks like they mean to pound you.
Iceland told the Banks where to go and are now recovering nicely. It has been reported that Wikileaks has info. on the Banks (BOA was specifically mentioned and Jamie Dimon is obama’s favorite banker). I suppose it’s a two fer the obama administration they can use it as an excuse to go after them and teach them a lesson about messing with his contributors at the big global banks.
Iceland offers risky temptation for Ireland as recession ends
“Iceland’s president, Olafur Grimsson, irritated EU officials last month when he said his country was recovering faster because it had refused to bail out creditors mostly foreigners.
“The difference is that in Iceland we allowed the banks to fail. These were private banks and we didn’t pump money into them in order to keep them going; the state should not shoulder the responsibility,” he said.”

Otherwise Eric Holder is gonna' go Medieval on her.
We can take care of the bad boys in Philadelphia in a conference committee where matching funds for anything they're doing just disappears.
"...we have at times been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms.
"I just think in a world that is as complex as it is, that it is very important for us to be able to forge partnerships as opposed to simply dictating solutions.

The money shot.
That's why Soros/Goldman Sachs is going after Iceland with their very best Holder-shaped rectal exam glove.
