Let’s get one thing straight.
Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party are not responsible for the shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
In fact, the only person responsible is the nut who allegedly pulled the trigger. “Alleged”, because that person is now in police custody awaiting trial, and in this country a person is innocent until proven guilty.
Unless you happen to be a conservative who disagrees with Barack Obama.
Liberal media pundits are turning themselves inside out blaming everyone to the right of Joseph Stalin, just as they did after the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
Keith Olbermann attacked everyone at Fox News, and demanded Beck apologize for his rhetoric.
A reporter at CNN laid the blame at Sarah Palin for rhetoric that “allowed this kind of thing to happen.”
Ignoring the entire eight years of the Bush Presidency, Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post made the ludicrous claim that “violent” rhetoric comes exclusively from the right.
Paul Krugman tried to lay the blame on Sarah Palin and her use of a target graphic.
A CBS report furthers the lunatic idea that Palin is responsible for the shooting because of the image of a target.
The Associated Press did the same thing, according to a post at Newsbusters.
Instead of looking at the background of the alleged shooter, the Democrat-media complex is hell bent on demonizing any critic of any Democrat as being responsible somehow for the tragedy in Arizona. According to the left, anyone who watches Fox News had a hand in the shooting.
But what about the person arrested for the attack?
Tom Blumer of Newsbusters writes:
Never mind that the person who allegedly shot Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and murdered several others, Jared Loughner, is reportedly a marijuana-using loner who lists the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf as among his favorite books, or that the most recent items which could bee seen as potential incitements to violence against Giffords have come from the left, in response to her refusal to back Nancy Pelosi for Minority Leader in the House just days ago.
Doing the work the lazy liberal media refuses to do, Blumer continues:
Here’s a link (partial screen grab here for when it comes down; corroborated by Tyler Durden at Zero Hedge) to Laughner’s YouTube profile.
Here’s a screen grab of a DailyKos post from Thursday entitled “My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi And is mow DEAD to Me!” Charming. Michelle Malkin notes that the post has been pulled. The post’s author has left a comment stating: “i now am FULL of guilt after writing this diary. i am a proud atheist, so pray for yourself, not me. i don’t need prayers, nor want them.”
It didn’t take me long to find this comment at another “progressive” forum, where proprietor “Booman” travels into the realm of desiring thuggery: “Here’s a list of disloyal jerkoff Democrats who didn’t vote for Pelosi as Minority Leader ... I hope Pelosi crushes these idiots and makes their lives miserable. I’m not kidding.”
Can the media be trusted after this? Hardly.
If liberals like Olbermann and Krugman had their way, conservatives would be stripped of their citizenship and tossed in concentration camps. Their words and actions are eerily reminiscent of certain 20th century European tyrants.
But if they want to play this game, fine.
In September 2010, a Florida man was sentenced to more than two years in prison for threatening a Republican Congresswoman. He admitted to the judge he watched too much MSNBC.
By the media’s so-called “logic”, Olbermann, Schultz, Maddow and Matthews are all responsible for the threat, not the man who actually did it.
But since the target was a Republican, no outcry was heard from anyone in the media.
Michelle Malkin has a rundown of the hate liberals expressed over George W. Bush, including a movie about the assassination of the President.
Where was Olbermann’s outrage over that?
Conservatives need to stand strong and push back against the despicable, slanderous lies of the mainstream press.
Glenn Beck did not pull the trigger. Neither did Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, or the Tea Party.
Conservative rhetoric or political campaign ads did not kill a 9-year-old girl and a federal Judge.
If Olbermann and Company want reasonable dialog, they can start by toning down their own hateful rhetoric.
Olbermann and co. should have been yanked off the air in 2003, as soon as they started spouting Al Qaeda propaganda when our troops were in harm's way in Iraq.
There is historical precedent for doing just that: FDR and Truman did not tolerate dissemination of enemy propaganda during WW2 and Korea, and Lincoln threw congressman and reporters with Confederate sympathies in jail.
