That’s what I thought—sorta like a big crawdad....
I was told they probably ambushed their prey from shallow water. They’d fill the niche of crocodilians.
I’d be very disappointed if they just crept around in the water, mucking about with detritus and fish leavings and carrion. Makes more sense, but not exciting at all.
My fave as a kid was, “The Hollow Men.”
